• RECLAMATION COSTS EXHIBIT L
u
I•
The worst case reclamation scenario will occur at the end of the mine life. At this point, there
will be two different azeas which will have to be reclaimed; which will be the lazgest disturbance
at any time. These two areas include the western half of Phase 11, and the Redi-Mix/Asphalt
Plant azea.
The perimeter slopes that have been mined to 2H:1 V in Phase 11 will need to be backfilled to
3H:1 V, as shown on Map F, Reclamation Plan. The amount of fill needed to achieve the desired
slope is estimated to be 114,507 cubic yards. This was calculated by SurvCADD using the mine
plan contours and the reclamation contour difference over the western half of Phase 11. This
material will come from the eastern half of Phase 11, where it has been stockpiled after being
removed from the western half of Phase 11. After the slopes have been graded to 3H:1 V, twelve
inches of topsoil will need to be placed over the slopes. The asphalUconcrete plant azea will also
have to be reclaimed. This azea will need to be ripped, harrowed, graded, retopsoiled and finally
seeded. The total inclusion area to be reclaimed in the worst case scenario is approximately 17.5
acres. A breakdown of all costs associated can be seen in the table below:
Task # Descri lion Cost
1 Demolition and Dis osal of Structures $69,692
2 Dewater Pit to 10' D th $109,376
3 Backfill West Half of Phase 11 (114,507 d $58,399
3 Ri azeas for To soil R lacement 17.5 acres $1,976
4 R lace To soil (17.5 acres $9,599
5 Reve elate D Ran eland 17.5 acres $16,012
6 Reve elate Wetland Perimeter 4.7 acres $6,092
7 Mobilization/Demobilization costs $4,548
Subtotal of Direct Costs $275,694
DRMS Cost 21 % of Direct Costs $57,896
Total Estimated Reclamation Costs $333,590
Anderson Pit, Apri107
L-1
