These values are quRe
' consistent wRh those anticipated at the Gdden Cross Mine.
SlmGar cost estimates were recently completed for two existing mining operations In the Unfted States. The
first mine Is a 15,000 ton/day operation exhlbtling a slurry flow of about 5,000'gpm and a tree ~yanlde level
t of 125 mg/I. The estimated capital and opAra(Ing costs were 53,500,000 and 50.31/ton of ore processed,
respectively. A summary of the costs are.pre~ented In Tables 13 end 14. Using a cost of 50.70~'Ib for NaCN
and a 9096 recovery, the recoverable value of cyankJe was about 50.59/ton. The net recoverable value was
' about 50.28/ton or 51,200/day. These calculations dkl not take Into account either the mass of cyankle
present In the recyded and untreated decant water, or the royalty fee. The corresponding op@rating costs
for chemical treatment would have ranged from about 51.00-51.50/ton.
' - -- --
L TABLE 13
' ESTIMATED CAPITAL COST FOR CYANIDE RECOVERY
1

'. •>',

1
Item Total Cost ,~
Stripping Towers 5 125,000
Absorber Towers 125,000
Tower Internals
Demisters 100,000
Distributers 100,000
Support Gratings 50,000
Packing 250,000
Reactors 100,000
Mixers 60,000
Fans 75,000
H,SO~ Feed System + Storage 50,000
Ume Feed System + Storage :105,000

NaOH Feed System + Storage ~;
20.000
Subtotal Equipment Costs 51,160,000
Installation Factor x 3.0
TOTAL CAPITAL COST 53,480,000
