• lodgepole pine, subalpine fir, and Engelmann spruce. In areas where aspen
have been cleared and fills are minimal, coppice growth of aspen is expected.
Fertilization will not be initiated until soil tests have been reviewed following the
first season's growth. Maintenance fertilization will be applied as needed to
maintain the grass stand for the interim period between construction and final
reclamation. The use of organic fertilizers and humate based amendments will
be considered over inorganic fertilization products.
Noxious weeds do occur in the area surrounding the Henderson Mill site. A
weed control program is established at the Henderson Mill site and will continue
on affected land occurring with the construction of PC3. The target species at
the Henderson Mill is Circium arvense, Canadian thistle, for which spraying is
conducted regularly on areas of known infestation. This Plan minimizes an
• increase in infestation by employing timely interim reclamation of newly affected
lands. Final reclamation will limit the transport and application of topsoil from
areas where weed seed may reside in the soil seed bank. The use of weed free
mulches will be specified.
The seed mix for interim reclamation considers rapid establishment, soil
stabilization, and native species revegetation for the sustained interim period.
3.7 Facility Decommissioning Phase
The conveyor project is designed to convey ore for the remaining life of the mine.
Facility decommissioning consists of conveyor and bent removal and disposition
through salvage operations, landfilling, or sale. Concrete foundations are similar
in size to railroad ties and will therefore be disposed of on-site within backfills.
Debris and refuse will be removed from the site and disposed of in the
fift
23
January 16.19M
Plan Coc
