Technical Revision -Exhibit E
Reclamation Plan
At the completion of mining, reclamation will consist of portal and vent hole closures in a
manner that will insure public safety. The waste dump area will be reclaimed to allow for the
pre-mining condition of rangeland. Any waste materials used as a surfacing or fill on the pad or
haulage roadway will be consolidated into the waste dump.
Re-grading of the waste pile will result in a rounded mound, no steeper than 2:1 (h:v) anywhere
on the surface. It will be covered with the soil material stockpiled before the waste pile was
built. The surface will then be pocked to enhance water retention and seeded with a seed mixture
that is appropriate for the neighboring DOE and B.L.M. land, as shown in the following table.
Scientific Name Common Name lbs/acre
Pascopyrum smithii An•iba western wheatgrass 4.0
Elymus trachycaulus ssp Slender wheatgrass 2.0
Oryzopsis hymenoides Poloma Indian ricegrass 4.0
Bouteloua gracilis Hachita blue grama 2.0
Hilaria jamesii (florets) Galleta grass 2.0
Stipa comata Needleandthread grass 1.0
Stipa viridula Lodorm green needlegrass 2.0
Linum lewisii Lewis flax 1.0
Penstemon palmeri Cedar Palmer penstemon 0.5
Sphaeralcea coccinea or
Sphaeralcea parvifolia Scarlet or Parvifolia
globemallow 0.3
Atriplex canescens Rincon fourwing saltbush 3,0
Ceratoides lanata Winterfat 1.0
Total pounds per acre 22.8
All compacted areas will be ripped or scarified and seeded as well.
SM-18 Application for Technical Revision -Page 5 - 7/14/2004
