Box 3609 ~ - <br />Grand Junction, Colorado 81502 <br />Attention: Mr. Paul McGehee <br />Subject: Geologic Evaluation for a Proposed Gravel Pit <br />located on a part of the 58:, SW~ and Sw;, SE;, <br />Section 36, Township 46 North, Aange 9 West, of the <br />New Mexico Principal Heridian, Montrose, County, <br />Colorado <br />As requested we have observed the site and evaluated the geology <br />for the referenced site, also known as 21830 Highway 550 Montrose, <br />' Colorado. The gravel pit is located approximately B miles south of <br />Montrose, Colorado and will be called the Colons Gravel Pit. <br />' The proposed property is bounded on the west by U.S. Highway 550 <br />and on the Waal by the Ylood plain oP the Uncompahgre River. To <br />' the north is sparsely spaced residence with acreage and to the <br />south afield prior to sparsely spaced residences with acreage. <br />1 <br />The parcel consists of 77. it acres oP which 28.5 acres is to be <br />' mined. The small acreage is irrigated farm ground similar to the <br />adjacent small acreages, The site presently has a pre-manufactured <br />single family residence. The pre-manufactured structur¢ will be <br />used as a temporary office until the gravel removal operation <br />' progresses to the point it will need to be removed. <br />' The purpose of this report is to identity geologic hazards, <br />particularly hazards that might have adverse effect on adjacent <br />properties and manmade structures. This report is Sneed on drill <br />' holes performed on the proposed parcel, on soil mapping by the Soil <br />Conservation service (SCS) and on various geologic books and maps. <br />Colons Pit November 06 S-5 <br />
