have to file a Special Use Permit as part of the permitting process. As a part of this Amendment,
United Companies contacted Montrose County regarding the pit and the proposed future
operations and uses at the pit. As a result, United Companies and Montrose County agreed that
the berm on the west side of the operation should be removed and replaced with a smaller
vegetated berm. United Companies has modified this berm and landscaped it into a rolling hill
which is above the pit slopes and is approximately 3-5 feet in height. It was also confirmed that
no new special use permit is needed from Montrose County since the pemut azea has not
expanded.
The pennittee for this site is O1dCastle SW Group, Inc. dba United Companies of Mesa County.
The name has been shortened throughout this application to United Companies.
Anderson Pit December 06 i-2
