have to file a Special Use Permit as part of the permitting process. As a part of this Amendment, <br />United Companies contacted Montrose County regarding the pit and the proposed future <br />operations and uses at the pit. As a result, United Companies and Montrose County agreed that <br />the berm on the west side of the operation should be removed and replaced with a smaller <br />vegetated berm. United Companies has modified this berm and landscaped it into a rolling hill <br />which is above the pit slopes and is approximately 3-5 feet in height. It was also confirmed that <br />no new special use permit is needed from Montrose County since the pemut azea has not <br />expanded. <br />The pennittee for this site is O1dCastle SW Group, Inc. dba United Companies of Mesa County. <br />The name has been shortened throughout this application to United Companies. <br />Anderson Pit December 06 i-2 <br />
