~~ •
' ~ Battle Mountain Resources, Inc.
Mr. Bill Lyle
January 29, 2000
D) Miscellaneous
The other O&M cost component is replacement costs associated with various items such as
replacement costs for expandable filters, media material, parts and other components. This
cost estimate is conservative because the rate of parts and materials usage is higher during the
initial system start-up which was use as bases of estimation. When operated at steady state
condition (180 GPM) the system can be operated and maintain at optimal operational levels
that reduce maintenance costs. The estimated cost for various replacement parts and
expandable is $0.83 per 1000 gallon of treated water.
E) Sludge Disposal
The generated sludge's form the treatment plant will be transported and disposed off-site at
appropriately pemvtted local disposal facility. The sludge is estimated to be generated as a
rate of approximately I.5 to 2 tons of wet sludge per day. The cost for material handling,
transportation and disposal of sludge is estimated to be $0.16 per 1000 gallon of treated water.
Total Operation and Maintenance Cost
Based on the cost estimation cited above the overall cost for 1000 gallon oftreated water will
be $6.90 when the plant is operated at approximate operation discharge rate of 180 gpm.
ERNW appreciates BMR's consideration of ERNW for this project and we look forward to
working with BMR Staff.
