• s
battle Mountain Resources, Inc.
Mr. Bill Lyle
January 29, 2000
Page 3 of 4
The estimated component costs to operate and maintain the plant are as follows:
A) Operational Staff
ERNW designed the plant to include a state of the art control system to reduce the number of
operators needed. ERNW installed on-line instnunentation and monitoring system to reduce
performance monitoring and data collection requirements. The required staffing w~ll consist of
one operator and one mechanical helper per shift. ERNW anticipates four two man crews (8
people) to operate the plant 24 hours per day on a rotational shift schedule. Eight hours shifts
allow each crew to have adequate rest and will minimize overtime costs thus optimizing labor
costs. The staffcost to operate the plant on 24 hr bases is $2.92 per 1000 gallon of treated
water.
B) Chemical Use
The following chemicals and reagents are used daily to operate the plant.
Chemicals Quantity per week Unit
Hydrochloric Acid 450 gallon
Caustic Soda 250 gallon
Lime 0.7 tons
Soda Ash 7 tons
Anti Scalent 1 drum
Polymer 550 Ib.
ERNW estimated the chemical usage rates based on the actual chemical usage experienced
during the temporary system operation The i
system output of 180 gpm. BMR should note
conservative. The advanced control systems a C~e..~'-~'~~
reduce the chemical usage by 20 to 30 percen
such as silos and chemical bulk tanks to allow
capacity), thereby reducing chemical purchas
cost per 1000 gallon of treated water is $2.08.
C) Power Use
The system operates using electrical power. 7
unit and centrifuge is 120,000 kWh per mont
estimated cost for electrical power consumpti
~~~ ~ p~ ~,~2~~ ~
~ f ~~ ~~ ~~
