The
material will be excavated and moved with front-end loaders. The size of the pit will
grow as mining progresses, which will be done in phases. Six-foot high screening berms
will be placed along the southern and western sides of the permit boundary as needed to
minimize visual impact from county roads. The processing plant,
asphalt and concrete plants will be located within the current mine site. Reclamation will
begin in areas within Phase 1 within one year where mining has been completed, with
the exceptions of where the processing plant, asphalt and concrete plants are located.
As mining in Phase 2 begins, screening berms will be constructed around the western
edge of the property as needed to minimize visual impacts. Mining will continue in a
northeast direction.
