<br />Solid waste: <br />All trash will be tightly covered or bagged, and promptly removed from the National <br />Forest for disposal in an approved facility according to state and local regulations. No <br />trash will be bumed on the National Forest or buried as part of reclamation. <br />Hazardous Substances: <br />The operator will use spill pads when pouring fuel or other petroleum products into tanks <br />or other containers, to catch any spillage before it reaches the soil or water. If any <br />petroleum products are spilled into water, the operator is required to call the National <br />Response Center at 1-800-424-8802 and the Teller County Sheriff. If more than 10 <br />gallons of petroleum products aze spilled into soil, the operator will immediately notify <br />the South Pazk Ranger District. Spills of less than 10 gallons will be treated onsite by <br />aeration and introduction of commercially available microbes that biodegade petroleum <br />products, or by other common remedial methods. Ifpetroleum-contaminated soil is <br />removed from the mining claim, it will be disposed of in accordance with all federal, <br />state and local regulations. <br />Storage of hazazdous materials on the mining claim other than petroleum products is not <br />authorized. <br />Storage and use of explosives is not authorized. <br />RECLAMATION <br />General Requirements. Continual reclamation will occur as practicable during the <br />course of mining operations. The claimant will take measures to prevent or control onsite <br />and off-site damage to the environment and National Forest surface resources including <br />(1) control of erosion and landslides; (2) control of water runoff; (3) isolation, removal, <br />or control of toxic materials; (4) reshaping and revegetation of disturbed areas, where <br />reasonably practicable; and (5) rehabilitation of fisheries and wildlife habitat (36 CFR <br />228.8 g). <br />Adequate bond has been posted for your mining operation. Our. records indicate that the <br />Forest Service currently has a reclamation bond of $900 and the Colorado State Division <br />of Minerals and Geology currently has a reclamation bond in the amount of $4,905. You <br />also indicate that you have another $2,000 in reclamation bond with the State of <br />Colorado. Please provide us evidence of this bond amount, such as a copy of a receipt or <br />notice from the State. <br />Final reclamation will include: (1) removing all equipment and debris from the claim and <br />properly disposing of such items off National Forest System lands, (2) rehabilitating and <br />closing all non-system access roads and (3) seeding all disturbed areas including mine <br />pits, spoils, access roads, parking azeas and other heavily used or compacted sites with <br />the South Park Ranger District low elevation/dry recommended native seed mix or other <br />
