Glass Gravel Pit, M-1981-022
Deaz Ms. Crosby:
The following discussion and attachments aze submitted on behalf of our client, Connell
Resources, Inc., in response to the Adequacy Review comments prepazed by the Division of
Minerals and Geology dated April 6, 2005 for the Glass Gravel Pit Amendment AM-02. The
information and discussion below addresses each comment as it was presented by the Division:
1. Proof of publication and notification is attached.
2. Signed copies of the maps~are attached.,
Rule 6.4.5 Exhibit E -Reclamation Plan
3. The statement, "... although not part of this proposed reclamation amendment, the
lined depression could potentially be used by future landowners as a stock pond",
only refers to the use of the lined depression. The lining of an azea of the site to
create a lined depression is included in the proposed amendment. Storing or retaining
water in the lined depression or the use of the depression as a stock pond is not a
component of the revised reclamation plan.
4. The compacted clay liner will be constructed with a combination of on-site and
imported clay, overburden, and soil materials. The estimated 36,000 cubic yards
includes all the materials for the liner construction. The clay material will be either
imported to the site or produced from broken down claystone removed from the
bottom of the pit. The on-site material will be ripped from weathered areas of the on-
site claystone bedrock, using excavators or other appropriate equipment.
1499 West 120th Avenue, Suite 200 (303) 452-6617 • Fax (303) 452-2759
Denver, Colorado 80234-2759 - www.applegategroup.com
