Finished Gradine and Reveeetation
All surface land disturbances created during pipeline installation shall be reclaimed.
Reclamation shall include the backfilling of the excavated trench to blend with the
adjoining upgradient and downgradient topography. The recontoured trench will be
seeded with the CDRMS approved seed mixture following backfill and contouring
activities.
G,3 Site-Wide Monitoring
The current water monitoring program for the San Luis Mine is outlined in Technical
Revision 32, Table 1-4. The two principal azeas of water monitoring at the San Luis
Mine are: (1) the West Pit azea (includes both surface and ground water monitoring),
and (2) the tailings disposal area (TDA). As specified in the Colorado Mined Land
Reclamation Board regulations, "An operator is allowed to request a release of
reclamation responsibility any time the operator determines that the reclamation
requirements have been completed: [C.R.S. 34-32-] 17(5.5) and Rule 3.1.7(8)].
According to conditions and calculations presented in Technical Revision I5, water
monitoring associated with the TDA would continue for a period of 9 years following
cessation of tailings deposition or through the year 2006. The time frame for water
monitoring at the TDA was based on detailed hydrologic analysis of reasonable and
probable travel times for ground water under a condition of TDA liner leakage.
Based on the water monitoring conducted in the vicinity of the TDA, BMRI requests
release of water monitoring responsibilities associated with the TDA as of December
31, 2006. This modification would end monitoring at M-4R, M-6, M-7R, M-8, M-9,
M-12, M-13R, M-14, M-15, L-1S, L-1D, L-2S, L-2D, L-3S, and L-3D. Table G.3-1
lists the proposed water monitoring program that BMRI would implement through
final site closure. All references to parameter lists in Table G.3-1 are to applicable
tables in TR-32. Table G.3-2 lists all wells that are scheduled to be abandoned.
Battle Mountain Resources, /nc. 26 Telesto Solutions, Inc.
P:Nrojecls1212-Newmont(SaN.u¢)VSmiLUislPCnnilAmenament-West Rl MavgemenftW ftepotl&PDFSV'ennitAmendmenl_v4.Eoc October 2006
