Pumping Vault
The pumping vault will be constructed from precast concrete or from cast-in-place
concrete. Pipe penetrations in the pumping vault will also be grouted. Prior to
construction of the vault, the foundation will be inspected, loose or soft materials will
be over-excavated and replaced with structural fill, and approved by the field
engineer prior to placement of the floor slab.
Irrigation Pipeline
A specific Constmction QA/QC plan will be developed after the evaluation of the
existing pipeline has been completed, sections needing replacement have been
identified, and the most appropriate construction method (slip-lining or trenching) has
been selected for these sections.
Hvdrostatic Testing
Hydrostatic testing of the completed pipeline shall be performed in the presence of
the Owner's Representative and in accordance with the construction specifications.
Pressure testing shall be completed on all installed HDPE pipe prior to placing fill
over the pipes or backfilling the receiver pipe. Pipes shall be tested at the required
internal pressure for a minimum of three (3) hours after the pressure in the pipe has
stabilized. The duration of the expansion phase and pressure dissipation phases shall
be consistent with the manufacturer's recommendations. The pipeline shall be
inspected for leaks. In the event that leaks are found, the pressure shall be allowed to
dissipate and the water removed prior to making the necessazy repairs. The pipeline
shall be retested until a passing test is achieved prior to placing fill over the pipe or
backfilling receiver pits.
Battle Mountain Resources, Inc. 2S Telesto Solutions, /nc.
rvwmie<m~zt~-tae.mom(sua.u~s)\SanwiNYrtnn nmenament- west wt mvagemem~va aepon~rorswmm+iwremmeni va.aoc October 2006
