This technical revision
application requests a minor modification to the currently approved standard specification for
soil liner fill material. CC&VG is proposing an additional clay source area adjoining the "Area
2" earlier proposed and approved, in addition to the Ironclad materials. In support of its
proposal, Golder Associates has completed gradation analyses, permeability tests, cation
exchange determinations, Atterberg limit determinations, and interface shear tests using
Drain Cover Fill/80 mil textured LLDPE/proposed Soil Liner Clay. Each of these tests
determined the performance of the proposed additional clay to be acceptable.
In light of the laboratory determinations submitted, I recommend approval of the additional
clay soil liner fill material and the requested standard specification gradation and minimum
required Atterberg Plasticity Index modifications.
cc: Bruce Humphreys
Jim Stevens
Al Sorenson
Jim Dillie
Doc: CRESSOIL.MOD
JP/jp
