the blending of naturals and tines from the crushing,%screening operation with the available topsoil.
All additional fines will be used to fill in the large drainage passing though the permit area. Plans
for the filling of the valley are included at the end of this section
North Yit'1'opsoil Stockpile
The topsoil will be stockpiled to the west of the mining azea in a berm. The berm will be installed
at a height of 3 ft. All stockpile slopes will be 2H:1 V or less. A triangular section will be added
to the berm as seen in Map C-2. This area will provide the necessary storage volume of 2,468 CY
for the topsoil stockpile. If a height of 3 ft does not provide enough storage the triangular section
will be heightened to provide additional storage. All topsoil stockpiles will be seeded immedi-
ately after placement.
South Pit'i'opsoil Stockpile
The topsoil from the South Pit Area 1 will be stored in two stockpiles. The stockpile will be di-
vided in two by an small existing access road. This access may or may not be left in place. The
Berm # ]will provide storage for approximately 1;000 CY. The remaining ],614 CY oftopsoil
will be stored in Berm #2. These berms will be sloped at 2H:1 V or less. Again the height will
vary depending on actual topsoil volumes in-bank. All topsoil stockpiles will be seeded immedi-
ately after placement.
Overburden
Some areas of the site are expected to have little to no overburden while others may have up 20' of
overburden. Overburden will be stripped and directly placed into its final location or stockpiled.
Overburden will be used to reclaim the bench area of the pit. After excavation has taken place the
bench will be brought back to the approximate bench elevation of (6620'-6630'). If extra over-
burden exists, it will be used to raise the entire bench elevation or flatten the slopes along the
western edge of the bench. If insufficient overburden exist, the fill will be provided by naturals or
fines produced by the operation. The elevation is based on the current elevation of the mined ar-
eas shown in the Spring of 2003 survey.
Cugnini 12103 17
