I will
respond_in the order of your request.
1. Attached are copies of the return receipts for the packets I
sent to the objectors. I sent one as a courtesy to Mr. &
Mr. Mirabito even though they were not at the M.L.R.B.
hearing. A copy of my cover not is also attached.
2. We felt it would be prudent to collect data from the well
through the life of the mine, just in case. So we confirm
that each well will be measured quarterly until mining ends.
The first five reading will be sent to the Division once we
have the data. There after the data will be sent with the
annual report.
3. We do not believe that 5 quarters will be adequate to estab-
. lish a. usable trend in ground water. if we attempt to set a
fir elevation or range we could potentially be putting our
.selves into an enforcement actions that we have no control
over. I believe that if there are any changes to the
groundwater table it be an environmental change not caused
by the•mine and will have affected the adjoining neighbors
wells before we would find it in the monitoring wells. This
would happen because our mining activities and monitoring
wells are down gradient from their wells. Our concerns with
establishing firm ground water levels is that Thompsons
could be held libel for activities not associated with mine,
i.e., installation of household wells above the mine that
draw down the water table, reduced irrigation or even
draught.
