PERMIT AMENDMENT -3- 1/11/95
EXHIBIT J - VEGETATION INFORMATION
Attached.
EXHIBIT K - CLIMATE
Average temperature - high 850F; low 16°F; avg. precipitation -
11 . 5" ; avg. snowfall - 32" ; high winds of 30 mph in the spring are
the cause of frequent dust storms . Prevailing winds are northwest .
EXHIBIT L - RECLAMATION COST
HIGHWALL REDUCTION
As shown on EXHIBIT C - MINE PLAN MAP, highwalls exist at the three
pit areas--NO. 1 , 2 5 3 . The highwall height measured at several
locations is also shown on EXHIBIT C . Total length of highwall is
as follows :
Average height Length
30 ' 670 '
20 ' 500 '
10 ' 400 '
670 linear ft . @ 30 ' avg. height
500 linear ft . @ 20 ' avg. height
400 linear ft . @ 10 ' avg. height
This is equivalent to 1 , 570 linear feet @ 22 ' avg. height .
To reduce one linear foot of 22 ft. high vertical highwall requires
the movement of 6 .72 cu. yds . of material from the top of the
highwall to the toe of the slope. Horizontal distance for this
movement would be 33 ft. Total volume required to be moved would
be 6 . 72 X 1, 570 or 10, 553 cu. yds . This would be accomplished by
drilling and blasting, where the materials is consolidated,
followed by dozing. The cost per yard is estimated at $2 . 00/yd.
for a total cost of $21 , 106
FINAL GRADING
A total of 24 . 5 acres has been rough graded and backfilled. Pit
areas and stockpile areas total 6 . 5 acres . Thus a total of
31 acres would require final grading. This work could readily be
completed within 40 hours using a D8N dozer. Estimated maximum
cost would be $6 , 000 .
