Reclamation Pit 2 , Weld County <br /> MLRB File No . 77-184 <br /> This letter requests approval of three Technical Revisions to <br /> correct the current status of the above permit and to improve <br /> the reclamation plan. <br /> The original application for this pit was prepared in 1977 . <br /> After approval and bonding, the anniversary date was set as <br /> October 30, 1978. The application included approximately 109± <br /> acres of irrigated lands to be excavated and reclaimed to five <br /> lakes totaling 94± acres and 15± acres of revegetated land . <br /> Excavation of the five lakes was to have started in the south- <br /> east corner of the property and progress in a counter-clockwise <br /> manner to result in two lakes in the northeast quadrant , one <br /> lake in the northwest quadrant and finally , one lake in the <br /> southwest quadrant . <br /> Excavation began in the southeast part of the affected land <br /> according to the plan . For about one year mining proceeded <br /> according to plan. Upon completion of excavation in Area 1 , <br /> it was decided that it would be preferable to proceed with <br /> additional excavation in a clockwise direction . Consequently , <br /> mining of Area 2 was started in the southwest quadrant . The <br /> county approved the technical revision , but inadvertently, the <br /> MLRB was not asked to approve the reversal of the numbering <br /> system for the areas to be excavated. <br /> Technical Revision 1 <br /> Revise Reclamation Plan from five lakes of 94± acres and 15 . 12± <br /> acres of revegetated land (which included roads) for passive <br /> and active recreational uses to four lakes of 66 . 26± acres and <br /> 15. 59± acres for passive and active recreational uses and add <br /> 21 . 55± acres for industrial use and 5. 72* acres for roads . <br /> There is no change in the total acres of affected land.
