Henderson Permit #77-342
March 19, 1981
Page Three

requirement to fill a reservoir basin to achieve a
slope of 3:1 would compromise that objective.
Consequently, some shores of our existing reser-
voirs and the proposed Lost Creek Reservoir may not
be as gentle as 3:1 and no effort will be made to
flatten the slopes.
3. Please describe how the new roadcuts will be reclaimed.
Where physically possible, the roads should be
eliminated by grading back to contour, the compaction
ripped to a depth of at least 8 inches, topsoil replaced
(dry), seedbed prepared and the area seeded and planted
as according to plan. See Rule 6.1(b) and (f) and Rule
6.5. Please identify and describe the roads where this
procedure would not be possible.
As indicated above, we do not feel that the Act
requires regrading of roads to the original
contour. Road reclamation will proceed as
described in the existing permit.
4. Bristle cone pine and limber pine should be included in
the list of trees to be planted. Seedlings can be
obtained from Native Plants, University Research Park,
400 Wakara way, Salt Lake City, Utah - 84108.
Bristlecone pine and limber pine have been planted
at Urad for the last three or four years. This
fact was reflected in the species list enclosed in
the 1978 Annual Report, dated March 2, 1979. We
began planting seedlings of these species at the
Henderson Mine Site in 1979. Lodgepole, Engelmann
spruce and aspen have been the predominant species
planted at the mill site.
5. Please describe the reclamation of Clear Creek in
detail. Streams and creeks should be reclaimed in a
fashion not requiring rip-rap whenever possible.
It is possible that no stream modification will
take place during construction of the mine yard
extension. The only additional stream modification
which seems probable in the next 25 ± years is the
construction of an additional mine access road
crossing the stream with a culvert. It is also
possible we will require the entire 43 acres. If
