The <br />original permit application was comprehensive in nature and <br />contains most of the information necessary to satisfy the <br />requirements of this amendment. Information in the original <br />application pertaining to wildlife, vegetation, soils, etc. <br />is adequate to fulfill the requirements of all aspects of <br />this amendment except as noted within the discussion of each <br />respective area. <br />• As <br />keyed t <br />review, <br />showing <br />and the <br />with the original permit, each area is numbered and <br />~ the map (enclosed). In order to facilitate your <br />we have enclosed a single copy of an additional map <br />the difference between the original affected acreage <br />amendment affected acreage. <br />One objective of the amendment is to remove "islands" of <br />land which lie within presently designated affected lands. <br />We have found it awkward and inconvenient to work around <br />these islands. These islands may be used differently. Some <br />islands may never be disturbed and will remain as islands of <br />buffer throughout the life of the mine. Others may be <br />partially disturbed and still others may need to be entirely <br />disturbed to accommodate future facilities. <br />• <br />
