dam will be obtained from within the reservoir basin.
Construction work is scheduled to begin in May 1981 and be
completed by Novembec 1983.
The area in which the reservoir will be located is owned
by AMAX and leased to another party for grazing. It may be
necessary to fence the reservoir to properly manage the grazing
or to comply with the terms of the lease.
The reservoir is expected to be maintained full except as
needed during a dry year. A conservation pool of about 100
acre feet is planned.
Of the total 658 acres designated as the Lost Creek
Reservoir Area, 70 acres will be reservoir surface, 50 acres
will be affected by construction, 20 acres will be affected by
the access road including the pipeline and powerline, and 10
acres might be affected by the fence. The remaining 508 acres
• are buffer inside and outside of the potential fence and along
the access road.
All timber will be cleared and marketed or given away as
firewood.
The reservoir will not be destroyed during final reclama-
tion. It will remain as a reservoir and be maintained by
whoever owns or manages the water rights. The fence (if con-
structed) and access road shoulders will be revegetated, but
the fence and roadbed must be left as permanent improvements.
Therefore, only the 50 acres of construction disburbance are
bonded.
All other disturbances will be reclaimed in the same
manner as committed to for other similar disturbances, i.e.,
the dam face and all construction areas not needed for future
• use will be ripped or scarified and revegetated to open forest
-11-
