• Exhibit E
Reclamation Plan
The basic elements of the previously approved Reclamation Plan will not be changed
for this proposed amendment.
Mr. Black has requested that an island be constructed in the lake if sufficient fill
material and soil is available. The primary purpose of this island is recreation. A
secondary purpose of the proposed island is wildlife habitat. United Companies has
calculated that to construct a 50 foot diameter island will require approximately 20,
000 cubic yards of material to build.
1. United Companies proposes that imported fill materials be allowed for the
construction of this island and other slopes at the perimeter of the excavated
area during final reclamation of the site. Materials imported to the site for fill
would be clean and inert in nature.
2. United Companies has attached the Items required by Rule 3.1.5(9) as an
Appendix to Exhibit E -Reclamation Plan.
The gravel extraction areas at Pit #1 aze presently held by three separate landowners:
1. Original permit site - Oldcastle SW Group, Inc. dba United Companies of
Mesa County
2. Amendment 1 area - Mr. and Mrs. Black
• 3. Amendment 2 area - Mr. and Mrs. Loughery
The lakes that will be created by.gravel extraction at Pit #1 will be separate by earth
barriers at the property ownership boundaries. Thus, a lake will be constructed for
each of the property owners. The final configuration of these lakes is shown on the
Reclamation Plan Map.
•
