Walther
Ezecu[ive Director
Michael B. Long
Division Director
10 ..~
Rudibaugh Pit, Permit M-1995-057, Technical Revision TR-01, Adequate for Approval,
And Recalculation of Reclamation Costs.
Dear Mr. Wilcox,
I received your responses to my questions concerning the technical revision named above. The
technical revision is adequate for approval, and I will forward the proper paperwork to our office
in Denver. The formal approval letter will be issued from there.
Due to this small revision and also since it has been three years since the last bond recalculation, I
reviewed the reclamation costs. I followed most of the same assumptions as before, and found
only a small increase. This increase appears to be due to the gradual rise in equipment rental
rates, labor rates, and fuel costs. The total reclamation cost shown in the enclosed packet is
$1,905, reflecting an increase of $405 over the existing bond amount.
If you have specific questions or comments about the figures shown on the enclosed sheets,
please contact me promptly (see below). With no further input from you, the new required bond
amount will become $1,905, and the additional bond must be posted before any activity approved
in this technical revision may occur.
Please contact Suzi Ericksen at our Denver office (see letterhead) to request new bond forms or
for submitting the bond increase.
Thank you for your timely and clear responses. You may reach me at the Division's Durango
field office: 701 Camino del Rio, Room 125, Durango, CO 81301; telephone 970-247-5193 or
fax 970-247-5104.
Sincerely, ~/
~~ r
Bob Oswald
Environmental Protection Specialist
Enclosure: bond recalculation /
Cc (w/encl): Rudi and Deb Rudibaugh/
