CashMineNon-DMOCertification AdrianBrown <br />1. INTRODUCTION <br />Mount Royale Ventures, LLC ("MRV") holds Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, Colorado <br />' Department of Natural Resources Permit M-1983-141 for the mining of the Cash Mine, Boulder County, <br />Colorado. The permit requires determination of whether the project is a Designated Mining Operation <br />under Section 34-32-112.5, C.R.S. <br />Section 34-32-1125 (2) C,R.S. states that; <br />"If an operator demonstrates to the board at the time of applying for a permit or at a subsequent <br />' hearing that toxic or acidic chemicals are not stored or used on-site and that acid- or toxic producing <br />materials will not be used, stored, or disturbed in quantities sufficient to adversely affect any person, <br />' any property, or the environment, the board shall exempt such operations whether conducted pursuant <br />to section 34-32-110 or otherwise." <br />This report provides a demonstration that toxic or acidic chemicals are not stored or used at the Cash <br />' Mine, and that acid- or toxic-producing materials will not be used, stored, or disturbed in quantities <br />sufficient to adversely affect any person, any property, or the environment. <br />2. SETTING <br />2.1 Location <br />The Cash Mine is a small underground gold mine located in Section 12 Township IN Range 72W 6th <br />Principal Meridian, at a surface elevation of approximately 8,000 feet msl on the flank of a steep ridge <br />~ neaz Gold Hill, Colorado. The mine location and the surrounding area aze shown in Plate 1. <br />2.2 Geology <br />The geology in the vicinity of the Cash Mine comprises a shallow mantle of soil (typically a few feet or <br />less thick) overlying Precambrian Boulder Granodiorite, which is described as "grey, pinkish gray to <br />black and white medium-gained to very coarse grained locally porphyritic rock composed of microcline, <br />plagioclase, and quartz, and lesser amounts of biotite and hornblende" Gable (1980)'. The gold ore is <br />contained in quartz veins and other local intrusives located along faults and major fissures in the country <br />rock. <br />2.3 Structure <br />The rock fabric in the vicinity of the Cash Mine is shown in Plate 2z. The district has a significant <br />number of large veins and faults, frequently oriented approximately NE-SW, and crossing structure <br />' Gable, D.J., 1980.
