Your request has been reviewed <br />for the Board of Examiners of Water WeII Construction and Pump Installation Contractors. The request is for the <br />use of pumping equipment in a gravel pit well for the purpose of commercial use and irrigation of a hay meadow. <br />Pursuant to Board Policy 2000-4 and the authority granted by the Board, the required variance to the <br />~., Rules is granted subject to the following conditions: <br />1. Every necessary means and precautions to prevent contaminants from entering fhe pond short be taken. <br />2. No permanent pumping equipment shall be installed in the pond unless prior written approval from the <br />Board is obtained. The use of temporary pumping equipment is approved. <br />3. Water from the pond shall not be used for human consumption. A sign shall be posted near any discharge <br />stating that the water is not fit for human consumption. <br />4. Rule 15 concerning disinfection standards shall be waived. <br />Granting the request for variance to minimum well construction standards does not relieve the owner of <br />potential responsibility or liability in the event wntamination of the water source. results from such construction, <br />nor does the grantor assume any responsibility or liability should contamination occur. Owners are also advised <br />that Rule 6.6 of the Revised Rules and Regulations require that the construction comply with any federal, state, <br />county, municipal or local government laws, regulations or codes that are more stringent than these Rules or <br />contain standards not covered by these Rules. <br />If you have any questions concerning this matter, please contacf this office. <br />Since ~~ ~~~ <br />eorge D.
