Phase IVb W'eekl~ Summan No. 29 Paee 3 003-2303
Previoush placed SLF material was worked. tested. and passed per project specifications prior to SLF
surface acceptance.
Ames continued to haul and place Drain Cover Fill (DCF) in the Phase IVb OSA on the south-facing
slopes of Substation Hill and on the Phase III ore slope. per project plans and specifications.
Ames continued production of DCF at the screen plant located near the Secondary Crusher. Ames also
resumed limited production of SLF.
Poly-Flex continued deployment of 80-mil single-sided textured LLDPE geomembrane in the Phase
Nb OSA on the south-facing slope of Raven Hill. Poly-Flex deployed 80-mil single-sided textured
LLDPE geomembrane over an area of approximateh~ 149.887 square feet in the Phase IVb OSA during
this reporting period. Geomembrane panels B-67~ through B-720 were deployed. seamed. and partialh
tested by Poly-Flex. Destructive fusion and extrusion seam samples DFb-190 through DFb-204 and
DXb-39 through DXb-43 were marked and removed. The results of testing on destructive fusion and
extrusion samples DFb-186 through DFb-191 and DXb-39 through DXb-42 passed per project
specification. All remaining destructive fusion and extrusion seam peel and shear tests on remaining
80-mil single-sided textured LLDPE geomembrane deployed during this reporting period are pending.
A map of the area worked during this reporting period is provided in Attachment C.
Phase IVc
Ames did not perform any construction activities in the Phase Nc area during this reporting period.
ADR Liner Expansion
Ames began contouring and compaction of SF material northwest of the CC&V lab in the ADR liner
expansion azea.
Ames removed DCF in areas north and northwest of the CC&V lab in the ADR liner expansion azea in
preparation for geomembrane deployment.
Field Monitoring and Testing Activities
Golder observed construction activities associated with Phase IV earthworks. All construction materials
and soil materials placed were verified as suitable. and construction methods were in accordance with
project specifications.
Golder observed placement. compaction, and moisture conditioning of SLF in the Phase IVb OSA
for subgrade preparation. thickness, compaction, moisture content, and materials. The Golder CQA
Earthworks monitor performed fifteen nuclear moisture-density tests (SLNb-208 through SLNb-222)
and performed five nuclear moisture-density retests on SLF that required reworking (SLNb-209a,
209b, 211a, 214a, and 218a) located within the Phase Nb OSA. The SLF met the requirements of
the specifications prior to deployment of geomembratte. Field test results aze presented in
Attachment B.
Phan I46-9.W¢ustl0.Aweustl6. ?OOi WNaes ~$~C{a~$ 1~1G•
