Corey Pit No. 3 <br />DMG 112 Permit Conversion Applicafron <br />EXHIBIT D - Minin>: Plan <br />e) Mining may begin in the summer of 2003 after all permits have been issued. The entire <br />pit is considered one phase with final reclamation {i.e.: revegetation) occurring after all <br />gravel reserves have been removed. High-wall reduction on the east and west sides and <br />grading of the pit floor will be done concurrently with movement of the mining face to <br />the south as soon as is practical without interfering with ongoing mining operations. We <br />expect the life of the mine to be approximately 20 years with the target date of fall of <br />2023 for completion of mining activities <br />f) The deposit to be mined consists of a glacial terrace deposit of sand and gravel with an <br />average thickness of about 40 feet. Soil overburden is characterized as reddish Mesa <br />Clay Loam with thickness of 4 to 14 inches on top of up to 24 inches of lighter Mesa <br />Gravely Clay Loam to pale brown extremely gravelly loam. Mancos Shale underlies the <br />gravel deposit. <br />g) The primary commodity to be mined is sand and gravel for construction aggregate. <br />h) We do not expect any incidental products to be mined/extracted by this operation. <br />
