tions gifts of $.156 each in
appreciation of the communi-
The amount ie derived from
a base of $100, plus one dollar
annual Lake George Apprecia-
tion Day luncheon on Friday,
March 15 at Camp Alexander.
The organizations receiving
donations are: Park County
Sheriff a Office, Lake George
District. The money will help
these organizations to contin-
vice and education programs.
According t•. Pikes Peak
Council Prograrl L'irector Iain
Yrobert, `°173is luncheon is our
way of thanking residents of
the communities that provide
support to the camp. During
the summer months, tempera
at Camp Alexander probably
double the population of Lake
George. Since Pikes Peak
Council is a .not-for-profit
organization we only pay a
state and county tax, and not
a local sales tax. The dona-
tions are our way to give back
to the community and help
provide services to young peo-
ple."
director at Camp Alexander
f;~:• the past five summers and
Peek Council.
Al Adler, camp properties
manager, adds, "This is a
chance for us to meet the com-
munity, and the community to
meet us. We have made a lot
of improvements to the camp,
including completion of the
new shower building and the
Summit Conference Center,
and this gives our neighbors a
chance to see what we're
doing out here."
