MINING PLAN
but due to the huge size of the potential affected land, the land
that can actually be affected at any one time is limited to the
bonded area shown on the mining plan map that defines the
actual mining areas.
The rest of the maps that pertain specifically to the actual mining plan cover only portions of
maps C-lA and C-1B.
Exhibit C-2: This map is confined to only the North Phase of the operation. It shows the area
of the initial upland and lowland mining areas. Within each of those categories
two units are defined in the subsequent mining plan maps. This map also shows
the current operations in greater detail than that shown on Exhibit C-lA and
C-IB. (As no specific mining areas have been defined in the South Phase there
aze no additional maps for that area at this point.) Map Scale: 1"=600'.
Exhibit C-3: This map shows the soils found on the site in the North Phase and therefore
links to the soils information provided in that exhibit. Map Scale: 1 "=600'.
Exhibit C-4: Simi]az to Exhibit C-5, this map provides information on the baseline
vegetation in the North Phase. The vegetation units are more fully described in
that exhibit, but in general the vegetation units aze rather broadly defined
primarily with respect to topographic location. Map Scale: 1 "=600'.
Exhibit C-5: This map shows the extent of major wetland areas along the stream channels in
the North Phase. It does not show minor wetland areas. Map Scale: 1 "=600'.
Exhibit C-6: Related to the vegetation map, this map shows, more specifically, the major
noxious weed locations for the entire site. Infestations with low density or low
vigor aze not shown. Map Scale: 1 "=660'.
Exhibit C-7: Finally, this exhibit describes the major wildlife habitat areas according to
primary species. Essentially, the whole area is wildlife habitat. This map more
specifically shows the extent of significant prairie dog colonies for the entire
site. Map Scale: 1"=660'.
Mapping Basis: All maps included in this permit aze maintained in a digital format. Of
major importance on the digital and printed format maps aze the GPS grids and coordinates. These
grids and coordinates provide a means to locate features with considerable accuracy.
