<br />Letter to Clint Strachan, P.E. <br />Request for Proposal, BMRI Oversight <br />page. 2 <br />I anticipate that the Scope-of-Work would include the: following <br />tasks. <br />(1) Familiarization with Approved Plan <br />WWL will familiarize itself with the existing apForoved plan <br />and supporting documentation. BMRI will provide copies of all <br />pertinent permit documents for WWLS review. DMG's lead <br />specialist and other staff members will confer with WWL to <br />provide guidance on the Division's technical position. <br />Meetings of the three parties can be facilitated by DMG, if <br />requested by WWL. <br />(2) Field Construction Oversight <br />WWL will perform field construction overeig.ht. DMG <br />representatives will accompany WWL personnel to the site on <br />the initial visits to assist in familiarizing WWL. WWL will <br />observe, document and photograph contractor work ar: the site. <br />WWL will propose a schedule for construction oversight <br />activities to DMG for concurrence. WWL will provide weekly <br />updates of construction activity to DMG. If WWL ok,~aerves any <br />construction practices which it believes will be detrimental <br />to the integrity of the structure it should notify the <br />Division immediately. WWL shall monitor ground and weather <br />conditions, in order to recommend to the Division when <br />construction activities should be suspended temporarily or <br />cease for the year. <br />(3) Oversight of Field Testing Program <br />WWL will observe the construction control and inspection <br />activities of BMRIs control engineer, Steffen, Robertson ~ <br />Kirsten, Inc. (SRK). BMRI will direct SRK to provide copies <br />of all past and future materials testing (materials gradation, <br />compaction, liner integrity, embankment settlement, etc.) to <br />WWL for review. WWL will review all past testing and prepare <br />and submit an opinion regarding the adequacy of the testing <br />program to DMG. This opinion shall include suggestions for <br />improvement or reinepection, as appropriate. WWL w_~11 provide <br />weekly updates of its opinion to DMG. <br />(4) Review of Related Technical Submittals <br />WWL, at the direction of DMG, will review technical submittals <br />made by BMRI regarding the design and construction of the <br />upstream raise and the liner system.
