__
'90 03109 18:40 $ 303 985 9947 SRK i
DENVER ~
10
•
BATTLE MOUNTAIN RESOURCES, SAN LUIS PROJECT
CMLRD ADEQUACY LETTER RESPONSES
46. Pease provfde a description of the reclamation to be performed at
Waste Rock Disposal Area D. The upper surface of each waste rock
disposal area should be graded to encourage drainage in a cantroiled
menner,
RESPONSE: As discussed on page E-1, the reclamation to be performed at Waste
Rock Disposal Area D will be the same as previously approved for the
other waste rock disposal areas. This reclamation plan is as follows.
The dump will be treated with an overall 3H:1V outslope. This
outslope will be achieved during construction by end dumping to a
maximum 50 foot height and then placing a 75 foot setback to achieve
a 3H:1V overall slope. The dump outslopes will be regraded upon
completion. The outslopes will be graded to eliminate all but a 15-
ft wide (dozer width) area of each bench. This area will allow for
bench access and sediment collection and erosion control. The upper
surface of each waste rock disposal area will be graded to encourage
drainage. Where possible, the waste rock disposal areas will be
reclaimed concurrent with waste rock placement. As each lift 1s
placed, the outslope along with the previous bench may be reclaimed,
as long as the seasonal conditions permit reclamation. Topsoil will
be applied to the dumps. The areas for topsoil placement will be
prepared and seeded using the basic procedures outlined in the
approved permit, Exhibit E.
