i
• Exhibit Page 18 •
EXHIBIT I - SOILS INFORMATION
1. Source(s) of Information: Mr. Fred McCullogh, Fort Collins Conservation District.
2. Significant concerns in soils management: Poor quality of existing soils and extensive
outcropping of bedrock (dolomitic shale and qypsum).
3. Soil type: Purner-Rock Outcrop on all areas to be mined. Range site is designated as
"Shallow Foothill."
The soil is very shallow, gravelly to stony loam over bedrock. Steep ledges and outcrops of
"redbed" shale are common. Air, water and root penetration is good but limited by depth to
bedrock. Moisture holding capacity is poor.
The. shale overburden has a pH of 8.6 and a conductivity of 1.2 mmhos/cm. Soil has a pH of
7.86 and conductivity of 2.40 mmhos/cm.
Colorado Lien Company 16.10.95
112 Permit Conversion Application: Munroe Quarry CL-MQ-AP-11-D01-0995
