My wife and I have a small placer operation W. of Granite
called Gold Basin Mine permit number M-1992-045. Recently Carl Mount of
DMG asked if we had water rights for the Gold Basin Mine. When we purchased
the 161 acres from John and Betty Lou Pearson in 1990 he was in the process of
filing for some water. We leased water from Pueblo West Metropolition District
water sales for 1991 and 1992 in John Pearson's name. Shortly after that Mr.
Pearson got some water rights
case number 86CW79. Upon recieveing them he then transfered them to me. I
then recorded them with my deed at the Chaffee County Court House.
Walt Clotworthy, of Leadville, who was then the water inspector for the board
for our district. He visited our site on several occassions checking on our water
consumption. We haven't seen him or anyone else for some times.
I have some issues I would like to discuss with someone in authority. I
understand Bruce Smith is commissioner for district 1 L If possible I would like
to have his phone number.
Because our property lays above 12,200 ft. we don't work the mine until
sometime the first of July. We can only work it until the end of Sept. because of
the temperature. It is a very short season. Since we are both almost 70 years of
age that is long enough. We would like to make an appointment sometime in
1 213 01200 5
