The application
was called complete on December 19, 2002 and the decision date is March 19, 2002. The
pre-operational inspection was conducted on January 31, 2003. Due to number of
concerns identified during that inspection, the preliminary review of this amendment has
been delayed while those concerns were investigated. Many of those concerns would
obviously apply to this amendment as well. We are presently on track to resolve those
issues and can now proceed with this review.
As the decisior date for this amendment is March 19, 2002, we have been in contact with
Mr. Scott Keen, who prepared the application on behalf of 124`h Estates, and Mr. Keen
agreed, apparently with your backing, that a short extension of the decision deadline
would be both appropriate and necessazy to properly complete the permitting
requirements. Therefore, the decision date has been extended until Mazch 28, 2003.
Given the rather short list of concerns identified during the review, it is our belief that it
will be possible to render a decision on or before that date.
The application was substantially adequate as submitted, however, there are a few minor
items that will require additional clarification and or submittals before a decision can be
rendered. They aze as follows.
The maps need to be revised to show the entire permitted area on one sheet.
The details of the mining and reclamation for the originally permitted areas
can be referenced but the entire affected/permitted azea should be identified
on one map. The mining plan map also needs to be revised to show the
location of the visual berms that aze being added via negotiations with Adams
County.
