Phase IVb Weekly Summary No. 7 Page 2 003-2203 Ames continued placement of Low Volume Solution Collection piping through the week of December 1, 2002. Ames placed 4-inch PCPE pipe in the locations defined by the plan drawings. Placement of the piping layout will continue as placement of the LV SCF material progresses to the east. Ames continued hauling and ~lacement of Low Volume Solution Collection Fill (LVSCF) in Phase IVb on December 3`a, Sa', 6~ ,and 9a' through the 20`h. Ames completed the construction of the primary 10-foot haul road on December 9`h into the Phase IVb PSSA west end berm azea. Ames began placement of the 3-foot minimum lift thickness on December 3`a and continued placement during the weeks of December 9'h through the 20`". Ames removed Drain Cover Fill (DCF) materials from the Phase IV a/b tie-in azea. Ames performed backfill and compaction of the interior PSSA anchor trench azound the perimeter to structural fill grade. Ames performed excavation remediation efforts for underground working UG-489 on December 2"a Ames performed SF blast drilling on Substation hill, west slope, on December 9a' through the 11 a', and performed a subsequent blast on the hill on December l la'. Ames performed local cut to fills of SF materials along the south side of Substation hill. Ames also • hauled away oversize materials to the uncontrolled fill and hauled in SF materials from the west slope of the Substation hill and from the Ames maintenance area. Phase IVc Ames performed excavation remediation activities for underground workings, UG-234a, UG-236, UG-498, UG-499, and UG-508. Ames performed confirmatory drilling activities associated with the Phase IVc construction area on underground working UG-304. Ames performed blasts at UG-304 on the Sa' and 19a' of December. Ames placed Concrete Plug materials (CP) at UG-269, UG-498, UG-499, and UG-504, Cemented Rock fill (CR) at UG-221, UG-288/289, UG-500, UG-502, UG-503, and UG-506, geogrid at UG-234a and UG-236, and Structural Fill (SF) over previously remediated workings at UG-234a, UG-236, UG- 221, UG-500, UG-502, UG-503, UG-506 and UG-499. Ames performed local cut to fills of SF materials along the access road on Raven hill and hauled away oversize materials to the uncontrolled fill in Phase IV b. Field Monitorine and Testine Activities Golder observed construction activities associated with Phase IV earthworks. All construction materials and soil materials placed were verified as suitable, and construction methods were in accordance with project specifications.
