EX IIBIT D-- MINING PLAN
The proposed operation's purpose is to expand an established sand and gravel pit
from 9.2 acres to 25.56 acres. This application if for a conversion from a limited impact
110 operation to a regular 112 operation. The original MLRB Permit (M-89-084) will be
converted to encompass the increase in acreage. Granite mined at the Oak Creek Pit is,
and will continue to be, used to maintain and improve county roads for the surrounding
area in Fremont County. The county road crews, on a need basis, will conduct the
minim; operation. Hours and days of operation will be limited to 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday
through Friday, except in the case of emergency. At full capacity, the mine is expected to
produce 30,000 tons/year of gravel. Mine equipment will consist of a bulldozer and front-
end loader for removal and stockpiling of the gravel, and haul trucks for transportation of
the road material. Contract crushing and screening will be utilized as needed. Due to the
simplicity of the mining operation, no permanent structures are planned, nor are any
utilities or service facilities needed. Any slopes created in the mine area will be reduced
to a grade no steeper than 3:1, H: V and stabilized via contour rifling to minimise erosion
of newly exposed material. After mining, the floor and slopes of the disturbed area will
be seeded with a native mixture of grasses and shrubs.
4
