It has been my
experience while testing 2", 3"and 6" HDPE that pressure drops up to 20 psi can occur m
the fim hour of stretching. It has also been my experience that these smaller diameters
take much less time to pump to test pressure. It is my belief that the 10" FIDPE did most
of its "stretching' while pumping up to the initial pressure and therefore we got the
desired resorts without tau three-hour "stretch" phase.
After review of the above data, we arc confident that both lines meet and exceed the
acceptance criteria, according to the specifications.
Ia closing, we feel it is important to zmte that static "leak down" tests are to be conducted
periodically in the future. These tests will be sensitive to expansion render static piessore
as opposed to gravity flow. All entrapped air should be given sufficient time to escape. If
any air is released during the test, it could indicate a loss, but not due to leakage.
Please do not hesitate to comact us if you Gave any questions or comments.
Sincerely,
~~~ ,
'`- Tiai Kso~cesky
Project Engineer
