It
is important to note that the actual tests did not require the ful] amount of "stretch" time
as recomme^ded in Plexico Application Note No. 8 contained in W. W. Wheeler and
Associates specifications, but satisfactory resuhs were achieved
The westerly pipeline was tested on Sr~tlyday, November 18, 2000 with the following
results:
Stated putnp at 10:00am with 83 psi static pressure
Stopped putap at 1:IOpm at 149 psi, 3 hrs pumping
Restart pump at 2:OOpm at 143 psi, 6 psi drop
Stopped pump at 2:20pm at 149 psi, using 30.1 gallons
Checked gauge at 3:OSpm at 146 psi, 3 psi drop in 45 min and passed test
The easterly line was tested on November 21, 2000 with the following results:
Started pump at 7:30am with 83 psi static presstae
Stopped pump at 9:58am at 150 psi, Z %: hrs pumping
Restart pump at 10:58am az 142 psi, 8 psi drop
Stopped putnp at 11:10am at 150.5 psi, using 34.3 ga]
Restart pump at 12:12pm at 145.5 psi, 5 psi drop
Stopped pump at 12:18pm az ] 50.5 psi using 193 gal
Checked gaugc at 1:OOpm at 147 psi, 3.Spsi drop is 45 min and passed test
According to information provided is the project specifications, the tests were to be
conducted in two phases. The initial expansion pha9e and the test phase. The expansion
phase consisted of re-pumping to test ptesstrre at hourly intervals for 3 hours and then
conducting the test phase. According to the information, the lines could drop in pressure
7,5 psi in the one-hour phase and pass the gravity flow criteria The information also
provided for 45.8 gallons of make-up water to be used to return the line to test pressure.
