Proposed Action: Tn order to be incompliance with the Migratory Bird Treaty <br />Act, which requires that BLM avoid actions that "take" migratory birds, it is recommended that <br />all vegetation disturbances be avoided from May 15 thru July 15. This is the breeding and brood <br />rearing season for most Colorado migratory birds. The initial removal of vegetation from the site <br />should occur outside these dates. <br />action. <br />No Action Alternative: There would be no impacts to migratory birds from this <br />Cumulative Impacts of the Proposed Action: None <br />NATIVE AMERICAN RELIGIOUS CONCERNS <br />Affected Environment: Although aboriginal sites are present in the area of potential <br />effect, no possible traditional cultural properties were located during the cultural resources <br />inventory (see Cultural Resources section, above). There is no other known evidence that <br />suggests the project area holds special significance for Native Americans. <br />Environmental Consegaences/MltigaHon: <br />Proposed Action: None. <br />No Action Alternative: None. <br />Other Alternative: None. <br />Cumulative Impacts of the Proposed Action: None foreseen. <br />THREATENED, ENDANGERED, AND SENSITIVE SPECIES (includes a fording on Standard 4) <br />Affected Environment: The project area is located in a gravelly wash that supports mostly <br />rabbitbrush shrubs and a few grasses. The area is within pinyon pine and juniper habitat on an <br />east-facing slope. The area is not remote and there is much human activity from an existing <br />gravel pit in the area. Several large hay Gelds receive daily visits by the rancher. The habitat on <br />site is disturbed from past flooding and consists of vegetation that is common for the area <br />Environmental Consequences/Mitigatlon: <br />Proposed Action: There aze no records of T&E or sensitive species or their <br />habitat for the project area, therefore there will be no impacts. <br />No Action Alternative: There will be no impacts to T&E or sensitive species from <br />this action. <br />Cumulative Impacts of the Proposed Action: None <br />10 <br />
