COOLEY RESERVOIIt AND FULTON WILDLIFE AREA PIT <br />AMENDMENT NO. I - JERONINIiJS PROPERTY <br />(Revised 05/03) <br />EX$IBIT D -MINING PLAN (Continued) <br />4. Topsoil and overburden excavation and stockpiling. When any dryland areas that are mined, <br />1' of topsoil shall be stripped and stored for later revegetation activities. Topsoil and <br />overburden stockpiles for use in final reclamation activities will be placed in the northeast and <br />southeast corners of the site out of the 100 year flood plain. Temporary topsoil and <br />overburden stockpiles that are placed in the 100 year flood plain area shall be a maximum of <br />20' in height and 100' in width with 100' gaps between 300' long piles, be placed parallel to <br />the S. Platte River's overflow direction, and have a maximum slope of IH:1 V. A Flood Plain <br />Use Permit from Adams County shall be obtained for all operations within the flood plain. <br />~. Installation of temporary conveyors and temporary internal roadways as needed. <br />6. Topsoil and overburden stockpiles that are expected to remain undisturbed for less than one <br />year may remain at a maximum slope of 1H:1V, and need not be vegetated. Stockpiles <br />expected to remain longer than one year shall be sloped to a maximum slope of 3H:1 V, and <br />then be revegetated with non-irrigated grasses per the Cooley Reservoir Mix A from NRCS <br />01/23/03 letter as copied as page 6 of this EXHIBIT to minimize wind and precipitation <br />erosion. For broadcast seeding, this rate shall be doubled. Based on a maximum reclamation <br />need of 10 acres of disturbance to non-wetlands area for revegetation activities, the amount <br />of topsoil stockpiled could be 16,000+_ cubic yards stored in southeast and northeast corners <br />of the site. <br />Any areas adjacent to existing wetlands that are disturbed shall be revegetated with non- <br />irrigated grasses per the Cooley Reservoir Mix C from NRCS 01/28/03 letter as copied as <br />page 7 of this EXFi18IT. <br />Temporary stockpiling of excavated material, particularly any material from below the water <br />table, to allow the draining of water from the material, prior to conveyance to the Plant Site <br />for processing or off-site for use as borrow material. <br />If demand warrants, direct hauling of borrow material, and unprocessed aggregate material <br />for use as borrow material, from the entrance onto Brighton Road, subject to the requirement <br />that haul trucks shall cover their loads and appropriate temporary traffic control measures as <br />determined by the Adams County DepartmentofPublic Works. <br />10. The filling of lake areas with silt from the wash plant water, backfilline of excavated and <br />stored overburden, recovering disturbed areas with stored topsoil, grading, and planting. <br />
