The change involves the i:ee
of silt fences to help control sedimentation during the
initial period of revegetation.
First, the grading has produced a long, rather unbroken
slope from the road to the bottom of the drainage. In ottr
past experience such long slopes can sometimes produce
sediment problems before the vegetation is fully developed.
Therefore, to help keep the sediment out of the drainage we
intend to install a fine mesh silt fence all along the be.se
of the elope and adjacent to the stream channel. This
should greatly aid in the control of sedimentation into t•he
channel.
Second, the drainage course itself at the base of the
disturbance is quite gradual and we intend to develop a
grassed waterway through this area. However, there is a
possibility that water running down the channel could hir..der
the revegetation. Therefore, to help control this we will
install two coarse mesh silt fences across the drainage.
This will filter out the larger particles, slow the flow,
and aid the revegetation.
If you have any questions, please call.
Respectfully,
-~~~ ~~~
Mark A.
