3. Revegetation Plan
There will be two revegetation seed mixes which will need to be applied to the reclaimed Halodorson
Sand and Gravel Mine. The seed mix which will be applied to the slopes of the pit as well as the flat
areas on the perimeter of the pit will use the seed mix shown below in Table E-2. This seed mix was
developed based on apost-mining use of dry rangeland. It should be more than adequate to control
erosion for the site and provide good cover. The second seed mix which will be applied to the flatter
bottom of the pit will be the same irrigated crops which were growing on the land previous to mining,
with flows moving towards the northeast. Alfalfa was the primary crop. This area will be irrigated in
the same manner which occurred before mining.
Approximately 32.51 acres will be restored to rangeland and 150.09 acres will be restored to irrigated
alfalfa.
Table E-3: REVEGETATION SEED MDC
$,pecies Lbs Pure Live Seed per acre
Galleta (floret) 3.0
Indian Ricegrass 3.0
Winterfat 0.5
Shadscale 0.5
Scarlet Globemallow 0.5
Bottlebrush 0.5
Rabbitbrush 0.5
Four-winged Saltbush 0_5
Total 9.0
Seed will be drilled into the topsoil and mulch will be applied at the rate of 30001bs per acre, and will
be crimped into the soil surface.
