Division of Reclamation, <br />Mining and Safety <br />EXHIBIT D <br />MINING PLAN <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />Jesse Lee Pit is an existing construction material pit that is proceeding in a westerly direction. <br />There is a substantial amount of material yet to be removed from the original permit area, and <br />that will occur first. <br />Product is moved downslope using a bulldozer and then removed by front end loader. The loader <br />directly fills trucks or moves the product to the on-site crusher or screen. <br />As the operation continues west into the area encompassed by this permit conversion, the <br />operation will continue much as it has before. <br />Topsoil will be removed and stockpiled in the existing pit bottom. <br />Product will be isolated from groundwater by constructing a diversion ditch pazallel with the <br />westerly boundary at what will become the toe of a 3H: 1 V slope from the edge of the westerly <br />buffer. The diversion ditch will be constructed to carry water into the existing sediment ponds. <br />Construction of the ditch will be by excavator and bulldozer. The slopes of the diversion ditch <br />will be neazly vertical at construction and cut back by product removal. <br />Product will still be processed and stockpiled on the existing pit floor. <br />The current azea being worked is between 1 % and 2 acres. This should remain consistent as the <br />operation continues. <br />There aze 6 to 12 inches of topsoil to be removed in the azea yet to be mined. There is no <br />overburden to remove, and the type of product has been consistent throughout the approximate <br />50 foot depth of this pit. <br />This is exclusively a construction material operation. No incidental products are anticipated. <br />No explosives will be used in this operation. <br />The applicant anticipates that the life of the mine will be through 2015. Product removal and <br />stockpiling wilt continue year-round. Most crushing and screening will occur in the winter <br />months when the Arkansas River is not used for rafting. <br />
