SANDCO, INC.
P.O.BOX 4440 DURANGO,00 81302 PHONE 970-247-1303 FAX;970-382-9220
R@C@IVY
AUc 12 1999
a"a^
fib^ 90 F'eld
ffiCe
EXI-IIBIT E ofM'^e1ats g Geology
REVISED RECLAMATION PLAN
July 14, 1999
This revised reclamation plan is to address the reclamation of the stockpile and processing
area far the Dalton Pit, permit No. M-87-064. Specifically, this plan is to comply with the
La Plata County Commissioners Resolution No. 1993-55 which established the post
mining landuse for this particular area as Commercial - Industrial and removed the original
designation as agricultural pastureland. The stockpile and processing area comprises
appro.d=tely 13.5 acres of land, lying west of and along the Animas River, immediately
north of Trimble Lane Bridge on County Road No. 252.
Operations within the processing and stockpile area will continue, as is, indefinitely.
Materials transported from outlying areas are currently processed at this location and will
continue to be for the foreseeable future.
Upon completion of the mining operations at the Dalton Pit, Sandco proposes to complete
the reclamation of the streambed area as previously detailed, and approved, in the original
112 application. In addition, Sandco proposes to further stabilize particular riverbank
areas with cottonwood and willow plantings. The access ramp at the north end of the
stockpile area is one place where willow and cottonwood will be introduced. Other areas
where stability problems are evident will also receive the plantings.
