REQUEST FOR AN AMENDMENT TO <br /> MINING AND RECLAMATION PERMIT M-81-302 <br /> The Deepe Farm Pit permit was approved by the Mined Land <br /> Reclamation Board on April 22, 1982 . In 1982 the Boulder County <br /> Commissioners gave authority to Flatiron Sand & Gravel Company to <br /> mine and process sand and gravel from Stages 1 and 2 of a <br /> proposal to mine the 168 . 5 acre site in 5 stages. The plant <br /> began processing sand and gravel in August 1984. Mining and <br /> processing have continued since that time. In 1989 mining will <br /> progress from Stage 2 to Stage 3. <br /> On January 5, 1989 the Board of Boulder County Commissioners <br /> approved a new site plan and special use permit (Exhibit I ) for <br /> the Deepe Farm continuation. It is the map labeled Deepe Pit <br /> Excavation Plan with Sales and Weight Facility Added 10/26/88. <br /> The new site plan changes the mining boundaries approved in <br /> permit M-81-302 by adding 22 .7 acres (Exhibit II ) to be mined and <br /> 3. 5 acres (Exhibit III ) for sales and weight facility. The new <br /> total acreage is now 191 . 2. The map also shows the changes in <br /> configuration of the stages. (The 3. 5 acre addition is currently <br /> included in the Turnpike Pit permit M-78-64 . ) <br /> As a consequence of the additional mining acreage, a revised <br /> reclamation map is submitted, which is titled Deepe Pit <br /> Reclamation Plan dated April27, 1989. One of the principle <br /> changes from the former plan is the utilization of four lakes <br /> rather than three. The four lakes created will have a total <br />
