The topsoil will be removed <br />using scrapers, loaders and dump trucks and stored in stockpiles near each of the identified mining phases and <br />wi116e used for the construction of a permanent seeded visual berm adjacent to the highway. Once the topsoil <br />has been removed, the overburden removal process will begin. As was the rase with the topsoil removal, <br />overburden will be excavated using scrapers, loaders, and dump trucks. Overburden will also be stockpiled <br />near the exVaction area in separate stockpiles from the topsoil. To prevent erosion, the stockpileswill be hydro- <br />seeded within 12 months of establishment at a rate of 50 bulk pounds per acre. The seed mix consists of the <br />following: <br />Sheep Fescue 10% Pubescent Wheatgrass 10% <br />Crested Wheatgrass 15°k Orchardgrass, Paiute 15% <br />Thickspice Wheatgrass 20% Winter Wheat 10°h <br />Slender Wheatgrass 20% <br />Rev. 08/10/03 <br />
