PRE-MINING AND MINING PLAN MAPS OF AFFECTED LANDS
EXHIBIT C
Mining has occurred on the site since the early 1900's, as described in the Introduction section.
Also, the River has modified its own course during this time. For these reasons, no accurate map
can be made of the pre-mining site. Map C-1 shows the site as it existed in 1996 based on aerial
photography and mapping at that time. The exact topography of the original site is not known in the
yard area and the mining area since mining took place long before the first map was made. Initially,
there were no excavations in the River and along its banks. Also, the dike berm in the River itself
did not exist. Channel bank locations were probably somewhat different than that which currently
exist.
Map C-2 accurately reflects all mining which has occurred to the end of 2001 and what is planned
for the lake excavation at the south edge of the permit area for the amendment in 2002.
Thomas Pit 2/02
