Surface drainage and "tail" water from the <br />irrigated fields drain into one of the two existing ponds located on the south <br />and west sides of the fields. The lower portion which is comprised of the <br />Mesa Rock processing site, drains into the existing pond on its west side. <br />See Exhibit C. <br />When mining has been completed surface drainage from the north will <br />drain into the pond created south of the proposed industrial azea. <br />When mining has been completed, the three existing pond will be <br />connected creating one lazge pond with a surface azea of approximately 56 <br />acres. See Exhibit F. A Well Permit is being applied for with the Colorado <br />Division of Water Resources to expose an additiona127 acres of ground <br />water to the atmosphere and for additional water requirements for the <br />mining operation. <br />Dewatering will be required to mine the sand and gravel deposit. Ground <br />water will be pumped into the two lazge ponds. The pond on the east side <br />of 23 Road presently dischazges into the Appleton Drain. Water is <br />presently being and will continue to be discharged under the terms of <br />Permit No. COG500348 issued by the Colorado Department of Health. <br />The estimated average flow during dewatering is 300 gpm. <br />There are no known potable water wells neaz the permit azea. The azea is <br />served domestic water by the Ute Water District. <br />
