. 06iy 9i i'??9 14:07 FROM TO 1038328306
?age 3
.June 7, 1990
Snyder Correction ~tctiona
Bruce Humphries
3. Culvert HR-6 cannot be in `.slied until the engineer
from the Cedar Heights lenders hoe x•eviexed the proposed
ootione. As of the date of this letter ve have not received
any comments from that party. We have inquired as to hew
much longer St will take, but nave not received an answer to
our inquiry. in the meantime, Caatly xiil try to keep any
problems that occur as a result of that culvert not being
installed under control, such as removing any sediment
deposited on the Cedar Heights road as a direct reauit c
t'r,is r_ulvert not being installed. We would like to point
out that the existing condition has been the case for me.ny
years and that problems resulting from not having a culvert
installed at this location nave been minimal. Nobody brit
Mr. Nagai has complained about sediment on the road.
Hopefully, the Cedar r~eights engineer w21i submit their
reviax soon so this matter cah fia:.ally be brought to s
satisfactory solution.
4. Tree planting had to be canceisd for this 6pri:ig,
although xe obtained the trace from the State sorest
Service. Currently, the tress are in storage and being
maintained in accordance with instructions provided by ':he
State rr^oreet Service nursery in rt. Collins. '+Jv intend to
plant all of the trues this September. Aittiough xe hav.j
been told fall planting msy result in a slightly higho:'
mortality, the fact that most of the trees will be planed
on s north Pacing elope rill help reduce winter kill.
The reason the trees vase not planted this ep;ring
ors eeverxl.
1. The grading xork on area {~1 and /~4 took l~~nger
than expected and xas more difficult (especially on F~4) than
expected.
2. Installation of culverts, en action aaaeee, iry
to protect the regraded siopen from exr.ysaive erosion, took
longer than expected and rsquirefl some redaeign o£ the
concrete xork at the eatrancae and exits to the culverts.
3. Our original construction plea vac based, as
you recall, on a November 1, 1989 start date. Because of a
delay in receiving final approval from the Board until mtd-
Decembvr xe started the work 6 weeks behind schedule and at
toe start of the elates season which greatly.limited the
amount of vork that could be done that could have been 3one
1£ ve could have begun in November.
P.04
