Our responses are as follows:
1. Attached is a copy of the Quality Control IQCI Plan for the slurry wall
construction. This has been prepared by the slurry wall contractor,
Environmental Barrier Company, LLC - GeoCon. Tab 1
Also attached is a copy of the Quality Assurance10A) Plan for the slurry wall,
which has been prepared by Terracon Consulting Engineers & Scientists. Tab 2
Meurer & Associates commits to notifying the DMG with written verification of
the date when slurry wall installation begins.
2. Enclosed is a revised "Lake Reclamation Exhibit" which indicates the location of
the perimeter drain west of the slurry wall installation. The drain is a
mitigation effort to keep the groundwater below levels that were present before
the construction of the slurry wall. Tab 3
Don Frick of Applegate Group has notified Tom Schreiner that the developer of
the project, Carma, would like to install both the drain and the monitoring wells
at the time the slurry wall is constructed. In order to give the DMG the
opportunity to review the proposed drains, Meurer & Associates will apply for a
technical revision to the permit amendment within 60 days of permit approval.
We understand from you that this will not affect our September 25, 2006
decision date.
G:\3811\3871-DMG Permit\3811 3rd Rvw Response Let[er DMG.doc
